International Day of Forests 2026
20 March 2026, Lumphini Park, Pathum Wan District, Bangkok
The International Day of Forests 2026 event was organized by the Royal Forest Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, to raise awareness of the role of forests as a “key driver of the global economy” and to promote multi-stakeholder participation in sustainable forest conservation and management.
The BMEL–ITTO Project “Enhancing Conservation and Sustainable Management of Teak Forests and Legal and Sustainable Wood Supply Chains in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (PP-A/54-331A)” participated in the event by organizing an exhibition booth and joining a panel discussion on the theme “Forests and Economies.” The discussion was led by Prof. Dr. Yongyuth Trisurat, Project Manager.
This panel discussion served as an important platform for exchanging visions and international experiences in forest resource management, with the aim of applying global best practices to achieve a balance between forest conservation and Thailand’s economic development.
